New Cousin

This is my cousin Tyler and his wife Andrea's baby, Amelia Grace. She is adorable! i could have sat and held her all night. Tyler was my "baby" until he figured out I was a GIRL and then he ditched me to play with the boys! (I was the only granddaughter on my dad's side and I was 10 when Tyler was born so he was my real-life baby doll). I am so happy for them as they start their family.

Thanksgiving Day 2009

Thanksgiving Dinner at Jason's brothers house in Pocahontas

no pictures

I would post some awesome pictures but I can't seem to find the camera cord so it's kind of hard to do that! Sorry! But we did have a great weekend with all of our families. And, yesterday, was a wonderful relaxing day of doing laundry and cooking to get us ready for the rest of the week.

Hanging out

Today, Landyn and I are just hanging out at home. We've baked 8 dozen cookies, cleaned up the house, 2 loads of laundry, played with trains, tractors and watched Beethoven. A most productive day.
This afternoon, we are going to Mrs. Way's (owns Montessori) for a play date with her granddaughter, Bailey, running out to our mini storage building to put away our fall stuff and get the Christmas stuff out, picking Kordyn up (he spent the night with Mamie and Peet last night and is going to a movie today), meeting Jason for dinner and then the dreaded: Kroger! Just need some things for our trip to ElDorado tomorrow; you know, goldfish crackers, cokes, waters, peanuts, etc.
We are going to Pocahontas in the morning for Thanksgiving with Jason's brother and his family then driving to ElDorado to visit and for the guys to hunt. We are returning Saturday so we can rest and wash laundry before Monday.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Friday Nite, part 2

Okay, so the movie was sold out unless we wanted to wait until 10:05 but we are old people so we just went to the mall to eat and walk around. Great night for just visiting! We did get tickled at Bath and Body Works when smelling the soap. I enhaled a little too much and almost got a nose full. Bought some wonderful smelling Christmas soap! Ready to decorate now! Better head to bed-early morning!

Friday Night

On my way to a movie with my friend Amy. We are going to see Blindside with Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. Heard it was wonderful! AND, we are having popcorn for dinner! Yummy!
Jason and Kordyn are going out to eat and rent a movie, Landyn is at Mamie and Peet's house with Emma for a sleepover. In the morning, I'm going to our church's gym sale with my fellow teachers. At 7 am. On a Saturday morning. When I could be sleeping in. Am I nuts? (Don't answer that!)

It hit home

Today, our pastor's sermon was on being thankful in good times and bad. He used a story about a flower shop that has a unique "special" during Thanksgiving time: long stemmed roses with no flower petals, only thorns. The whole point was to thank God for the "petals" and the "thorns" in life, for that is when you draw closer to God, to rely on him through difficult situations, etc. But, we should do that daily not just when we are going through hard times.
Wow! That really hit me. How guilty I am of only relying on Him when times are tough.
Just something for you to think about this during this upcoming season.
Have a great week!

Saturday Stuff

We had a very productive day!
First, we went out to breakfast @ Couchs (wonderful but too much food)
Then, we got Jason and Landyn's haircuts (Kordyn spent last night with a friend)
Got the propane tank filled, met Jason's parents at O'Charleys and watched them eat (we were still sooo full), Wal-Mart (next time we decide to go there on a Saturday, somebody please admit me!), picked Kordyn up, went to grocery store (only buy meat at Kroger, Hays or W & O which is now Harps), Subway because we were now hungry for lupper (lunch and supper) and then headed home for Jason to work on his traps since the season opens next Saturday.

Then, I started on Landyn's room and closet. I sent him outside to "work" with Jason and I managed to fill 4 garbage bags and a ride on toy and put them in my van before he knew what I was doing!! YEAH!! Now his room is so organized and clean. I did Kordyn's a few weeks ago so now, it's just mine and Jasons left and then, my entire house has been cleaned out and re-organized. Now, I just have 5 loads of laundry to do. Fun fun!

I HATE Day Light Savings Time

Why do we have to change the time twice a year? See this "angel", he got up at 6am!!! this morning. Guess who got to get up with him?? I feel a nap coming on.

Halloween 09

Since our church had to cancel our Fall Festival due to sickness, we went to another local church and let the kids trick and treat. Our tradition is to eat dinner at Mamie and Peet's house and then trick and treat in their neighborhood. We've always eaten chili and hot dogs but this year we had soft tacos and cheese dip. Yummy!! Here are pictures of the boys in their costumes: Kordyn was a War Nerd (that's what he and his friends call him since he LOVES war history) Landyn was a construction worker (he's all about tools). And here are pictures of the loot!
